Introduction

As player start enjoy shorter and faster game like PUBG, Valorant, League of Legend... while many RTS game like Red Alert, Starcraft, Total War... less and less common even how good they are, many Epic online game fall into same fate. Somehow MU Online stay as very favoured online by many player. This special case lead us into the idea create bot helper to make gameplay easier and comfortable.

Companion Behavior

  • Companion can be request by respective NPC at Cloister of Kaisinel or Convent of Marchutan. Each NPC offer companion by it own class.
  • Companion will automatic teleport to nearby player when invited to party unless player in specific area which forbid companion like arena. On early Beta test, Companion will follow player everywhere. But in late and Release, it will return to Oriel/Pernon as player join Reshanta or Siege or PvP focused area.
  • When player in attack mode, companion will attack all enemies player target. If player sheathe weapon, it will start follow player.
  • Upon player login, his last companion will appear beside him.
  • Player can only have 1 companion online at a time. Total 4 companion per character and 8 companion per account.
  • Companion even join 1 player instance like Haramel, making the game much easier and comfortable.
  • Companion start with level 15, and will level up as it gain exp. Because Companion cannot running quest, its only exp source is killing monster. Companion has nature 1.5x exp bonus.
  • Player can change his companion equipment by:
    • Player and companion must party together. And party only have 2 member, player and his companion.
    • Player must select companion as target.
    • Upon two condition is meet, all equip, unequip action will reflect into companion equipment instead of player.
    • Companion will auto activate its equipped Power Shard when joining group.
  • Companion will gain no AP or DP, take no fall damage and does not require flight time to fly.
  • Companion will never join Alliance.
  • If running in group with only companion, all loot goes to player. If running in group with more than one player, companion will be exlusive for dice roll. In any case, companion will always gain kinah split.
  • Companion is ultilize for PvE. It skill have no animation check, no ping and only have 100ms delay between skill. But in term of PvP or against boss, it doesn't good enough as it not know about evade skill or use defensive skill to anticipate it or run away in bad area. Still, Cleric, Chanter and Songwaver still notable support as it behavior ultilized. You will see Cleric use Cleanse or Splendor of Purification immediately when party has abnormal condition.
  • Companion have all stigma skill and some exclusive to it. Meaning it have more than 6 stigma skill.
  • Companion do use chain skill and presiquired skill still checked like player.
  • If using charging skill, it alway use maximum stage and perfectly charged.
  • Companion will not use 15m wide area skill while 7m AoE still used. Meaning Gladiator companion still using Exhausting Wave but Spirit Master will never use Fear.
  • Companion all armed with Lv.1 Summon Healing Servant (Cleric) and Lv.1 Stamina Recovery (Chanter) even it only have level 15. This help it sustain HP and MP while give some support for player. These skill will not leveled and always stay at level 1 unless it is correct class. Meaning in high level, these skill only use as recovery and yeild no notable advantage.
  • Other note:
    • By the time of 30 April, only Cleric and Gladiator skill loop has been ultilized. We looking for some expert Aion player help for listing proper skill of other class.
    • Player can give Food, Drink and Potion by trade but currently it is not using Potion and Food. This will soon be finished.
    • If giving wrong item to Companion like manastone, it should be return to player but this function has not properly done.
    • We using a part of code from Chinese Lv.100 game server for companion appearance but skill engine has been redone as original not too smart and consume too much CPU.

Consideration

The main suspect of current gamer playstyle is stress. In old year of 2k, early of digitalization, the achievement disease is this serious. Nowaday, people have to deal with massive amount of activity which all observed and reported, with number. As pushed forward, people getting tiring and stressing, they don't want to learn anything new, some even just want to sleep entireday. As the result, the gaming are highly straight forward, easier, and faster.

The key problem here is responsibility. People are asked to do more, and observed tightly. To adapt, the game they play must less or no responsibility, like no death penalty, reduced wait time, and more undo option. Infinium respond this with the Companion bot. Its automation are really convinient which let player relax and cool their mind down after daily routine as player don't have to worry much about the personal skill. Moreover the environment still keep player communicate with each other, let them make new friend or find something interesting.

There is various other reason, which may named as: individualism, too many game choice, community toxic... but all will be investigate later. Aion is second catalyst Infinium take. It's not strong but possible give much reason Infinium take.
